Logo and website branding refresh / re-design

Background:
PolicyAnalysisLab.com is an online 'community of practice' for public policy professionals interested in applying modern data science tools and techniques to public policy analysis. We also provide online data analysis training tailored for public policy professionals, consultants, and researchers. As well as bespoke consultancy services and industry-specific training related to applied policy analysis.

We are inviting a talented designers to help us revitalize our logo and website branding for PolicyAnalysisLab.com.

The final outputs will be used as a key input into a UI / UX design that will be developed for the website. The freelancer will release ownership / copyright of all project outputs to me at the end of the project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering:
1.) An updated logo that embodies the goals of the platform and appeals to our target audience (policy professionals and data science enthusiasts).
2.) An updated set of website brand guidelines for the website that is aligned to the overarching design philosophy and consistent with the logo (e.g. color themes / hex codes, fonts, style etc) .

Key responsibilities and tasks:
- Engage in an initial meeting to understand the project scope, goals, and brand values.
- Construct a design and research plan that aligns with our brand's direction.
- Perform research to inform design decisions.
- Present initial drafts, including logo designs and color themes, for feedback.
- Implement feedback to refine themes, logo concepts, and overall design.
- Finalize the design, delivering a comprehensive set of files suitable for various applications. This should include high quality logo variations required for the website using the alternative color schemes.

Requirements:
- A varied portfolio that showcases expertise in logo design and brand design aligned with a professional and simple corporate image
- Proficiency in logo and brand creation.
- Experience with conducting design research and applying feedback constructively.
- Demonstrable ability to manage project timelines and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Bonus Points:
- Prior experience working with educational platforms or policy-oriented organizations.
- A strong sense of current design trends in the educational and policy sectors.
- Ability to produce material that conveys complex ideas through clear, impactful branding.

This project will be structured in well-defined stages, from initial conception through to final delivery, with clear opportunities for feedback and iteration.

The designer will have the chance to significantly impact how our brand is perceived and engaged with by a global audience.

Copyright for final files and designs will be released by the designer to myself and PolicyAnalysisLab.com

- Files for the existing logos
- Logo examples I've produced via Looka to give you an idea of the style I'm targeting
- Preferred color schemes I like as inspiration
- Example websites I'd like to inform the redesign

(I have a collaborative and flexible style so will be happy to work with you in whatever way gets the best results. I'm also willing to be flexible on the budget, so please put in a realistic bid).
