Job ID: 32835995

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

What would be most practical as foundation for a new typeface? Research and compile your favorite fonts and general design influences - create an inspiration board. Use all of this as the basis of your new typeface. Build a typeface based on a consistent set of rules you set for yourself. Make sure the typeface is cohesive and utilizes the same design principles. Take your time and create letters you are proud of: be aware of line weight, dimensions, x-height, baseline, slope etc. Consider how the letterforms will work with one another, will it be legible? Do they work both at a small scale and large? The letterforms should be unique, but use consistent principles that tie them together as a family. Initially make the letterforms by hand to create a design direction (do not work digitally), set tight restrictions and stick with them. Create beautiful forms within those restrictions. Then move to the computer to digitize them. I will be providing you with an idea for a font and you are required to create it with the provided tools on adobe illustrator
