Logistics Cost-Reduction Strategist
Budget: $15 – $25 USD
I want to squeeze measurable savings out of our current logistics spend—both on our internal roll-off fleet and the third-party dump carriers we rely on. The core of the assignment is full-cycle category management for logistics: carving out clear carrier segments, surfacing reliable data, and translating that into contracts that protect service levels while cutting total landed cost.
You will be expected to drive three intertwined workstreams:
• Supplier evaluation and selection
• Cost analysis and control
• Performance measurement and reporting
Day-to-day, that means preparing and running RFQs that benchmark market rates, negotiating directly with dump carriers to lock in the best contract terms, and feeding real-world route-optimization insights back into the rate structure so savings show up on the P&L. I already have baseline data and historical invoices; you bring the methodology, the carrier relationships, and a proven history of reducing cost-per-haul. Experience working with Midwest US (Michigan) based Van Trailer, and Dump carriers is a huge plus.
When you respond, focus on your experience—especially any wins with roll-offs, dumps, 3PL contract negotiations, or routing software you have leveraged for savings. My acceptance criteria are straightforward: verifiable savings against current runs, clean documentation of the bidding process, and a KPI dashboard I can hand to operations for ongoing tracking.
If your background lines up, let’s get moving on the cost savings initiatives immediately.
