Freight Brokerage Setup Assistance

I am launching a U.S.-based freight brokerage and logistics company and need an experienced professional to guide me through every step of the startup process. The operation will cover Full Truckload, Less-Than-Truckload, Intermodal and Drayage services, initially focusing on the Northeast, Midwest and Southeast corridors.

Scope of work
• Business formation & FMCSA authority: advise on choosing the right entity, filing for MC/DOT numbers, BOC-3, surety bond and insurance requirements until authority is active.
• Carrier and shipper onboarding workflow: create compliant contracts, vetting procedures and data-storage methods.
• TMS selection & configuration: recommend and configure a freight management system that delivers load tracking and tracing, automated billing / invoicing and robust document management. If you already work with proven SaaS platforms, let me know which ones and why they fit.
• Operating procedures: draft standard operating procedures (SOPs) for dispatch, track-and-trace, accounting and claims so my small internal team can follow repeatable processes from day one.
• Integration & training: connect the chosen TMS to load boards, ELD data feeds and accounting software, then train staff via video sessions and concise manuals.

Acceptance criteria
1. Active MC authority and proof of compliance filings.
2. Live TMS instance with example loads demonstrating real-time tracking, auto-generated invoices and searchable document repository.
3. Complete SOP packet (Word / PDF) covering the workflows above.
4. One recorded walkthrough showing staff how to perform each core task.
