Experienced Freight Broker Needed to Build Out Brokerage Department
Description:
Our Auto Transport company is expanding into full freight brokerage and seeking an experienced Freight Broker to help us build and operate this department from the ground up. Candidate must have hands-on experience using DAT, Truckstop, and other industry TMS tools.
Responsibilities:
• Set up and structure the freight brokerage workflow
• Source, negotiate, and book freight with carriers
• Manage loads end-to-end, including dispatch and communication
• Build carrier relationships and maintain compliance
• Train internal staff on brokerage processes
• Advise on best practices, pricing, and operational strategy
Requirements:
• Minimum 2–3 years freight broker experience
• Strong knowledge of DAT / Truckstop
• Ability to create processes and systems from scratch
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Experience in auto transport is a plus but not required
Project Scope:
• Initial setup of brokerage department
• Ongoing operational support (optional)
