Consumer Electronics Shipping Logistics Specialist

Job ID: 40114791

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I’m bringing a new line of consumer electronics (DIY small PCBs like sensors or devkits) to market and need an experienced shipping strategist who can help plan how we will sell and ship products within Canada and internationally. At this stage I’m focused solely on shipping logistics and open to all distribution channels (Amazon, Digikey/Mouser, etc…). The challenge is that the products are very low cost and very small, so shipping costs are typically higher than the product cost itself so we need to find a way around this so that it is still profitable. It's also the kind of products that people want to get on their hands fast. Customs, tariffs, taxes and things like that also need to be considered.

For now, I am only looking for a consultant to propose some strategies and answer some questions, but it may eventually evolve into a bigger role if the project takes off. Ideally, you would have some experience with shipping/distributing electronics but it's not absolutely required and big bonus points if you have gotten some products listed on Digikey/Mouser before. It would also help if you have experience with some of the following : shipping/distributing from within Canada, shipping/distributing to United States (probably our biggest market), selling on Amazon.

Initially, the volumes will be low as we test it out so we are mostly interested in small-scale solutions for now, but it's also good if you know how to scale up. If you have ideas to propose it would also be very interesting.

In your proposal, please list explicitly your relevant experience and which path forward you think you can help us with (direct shipping, Amazon, etc...).
