AnyLogic Logistics Simulation Model
Budget: $15 – $25 AUD
I’m looking to prototype our customer-order–driven production flow in AnyLogic, with the spotlight on logistics and transportation. The model should capture how orders move from incoming demand through production, warehouse staging, and final delivery so I can experiment with policies that shrink lead time, balance inventory, and tighten the production schedule.
Here’s the picture I need translated into a living simulation:
• Demand enters the system as real-time customer orders (order size and arrival rate must be easy to parameterise).
• Raw material is pulled from multiple suppliers, travels by truck to our plant, and is released to production based on capacity and current WIP.
• Finished goods pass through an on-site warehouse, are consolidated, then shipped outbound to customers using a mix of direct truckload and milk-run routes.
Core expectations
• A clean AnyLogic model (latest professional edition) with clearly named agents, parameter blocks, and statecharts.
• Control panels that let me tweak supplier lead times, production rates, shift patterns, shipment frequencies, and route options without diving into code.
• Dashboards that instantly surface KPIs tied to my three goals: lead-time distribution, inventory profiles at each node, and schedule adherence.
• Scenario comparison capability so I can save a run, adjust a policy (e.g., safety-stock rule or truck dispatch interval) and see the impact side-by-side.
Acceptance criteria
1. I can shorten average order-to-delivery lead time by at least 10 % in one simulated scenario versus the baseline.
2. Inventory plots align with our historical monthly cycle counts when the model is fed actual data I provide.
3. Production-schedule Gantt exports correctly to Excel for further analysis.
