Google Apps Script Ninja (Docs/Sheets/Drive + LLM & API Integration

Job ID: 40101698

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

Calling all google App Script NINJAs !

I’m looking for a *senior-level Google Apps Script expert* — someone who lives and breathes Apps Script and has deep experience with Google Docs, Sheets, and Drive internals. Note at the bottom of this job post is a specific instruction to follow when applying so I know you actually read this...

This is NOT a generic automation role. The work involves nuanced, edge-case-heavy scripting that junior freelancers typically get stuck on (example: reading dropdown element values selected inside google word docs, parsing tables in word docs etc)

**The first project** will focus on advanced operations inside **Google Docs**, including:

* Parsing and extracting structured data from free-form documents
* Programmatic formatting and re-structuring of Docs content
* Working with **dropdowns / smart chips / rich elements** (which are notoriously difficult in Apps Script)
* Writing data back into Docs in a clean, deterministic format
* Syncing extracted data to/from **LLM APIs** (prompting, responses, validation)
* Coordinating data between Docs ↔ Sheets ↔ external APIs

**You are a fit if:**

* Google Apps Script is a core skill, not something you “also do”
* You understand the quirks and limitations of the Docs API vs Advanced Docs Service
* You’ve handled complex parsing, document mutation, and stateful workflows before
* You can reason through edge cases without hand-holding
* You write clean, defensive code and explain tradeoffs clearly

**You are not a fit if:**

* You rely heavily on Zapier/Make.com instead of Apps Script
* You struggle when documentation is incomplete or APIs behave inconsistently
* You’ve only done simple Sheet automations or triggers

**Nice to have (but not required):**

* Experience integrating Apps Script with OpenAI / LLM APIs
* Comfort designing reusable libraries and scalable script architecture
* Opinionated but pragmatic about reliability and maintainability

When applying if you want to hear a response from me please follow this direction (so i know you actually read this job post instead of sticking it into an LLM to generate an automated response): put the word "Ninja" as the first word of your cover letter to stand out from everyone else using AI to spam applications.

If possible would be great if you could include a brief description of your **most complex Google Apps Script project

This will likely turn into **ongoing work** for the right person. Hiring within next few days.
