software for mei cashflow bill acceptor

I need a application that communicates with bill acceptor through MPOST / using a serial port and this software will allow a user to deposit notes into the acceptor and output the data to a spreadsheet to keep track of deposits
when the cassette is removed balance is cleared to $0


GUI:
3 buttons on screen to select
- Start deposit
- end deposit
- view deposit history

balance of total money in machine shown on screen
this project would be running on linux
