cron job for GUI script in terminal Ubuntu Mate

I have to set a cronjob to run a script it have to be executed in terminal (the script checks that another script is running and if not - starts it...) it is pretty simple "keep alive " script but please pay attention : the cron job should open Mate terminal and launch the script there. it is important ... otherwise the script will not work ... it is GUI related...
