Website Migration, Server Setup & Automation
Budget: $10 – $60 USD
Tech Tasklist – Website Hosting & Server Setup
Server: VPS Server from Namecheap
Domain Registrar: Namecheap Inc. (www.namecheap.com)
Server Login: Available on request.
Websites to Be Set Up
You’ll find three websites currently deployed on GitHub:
1. OTB – Fully completed and deployed to GitHub
2. Cffx – Fully completed and deployed to GitHub
3. OpticFx – Still in development but already has a GitHub repo
What I need:
These websites should be moved from GitHub and hosted on the VPS server.
Each one should be connected to its respective domain (registered with Namecheap).
Make sure they’re live and accessible from the web through their proper domain names.
Deployment Automation (CI/CD)
Set up a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) system.
The goal is to ensure that any updates or code changes pushed to GitHub will automatically update the version hosted on the server.
This is to save time and avoid doing it manually every time.
Server Efficiency
Kindly ensure the server is running smoothly and reliably.
We don’t want it going offline unexpectedly, so a basic setup for monitoring, auto-restart, or alerts will help.
WordPress Setup
There’s another domain: icarusjournal.co.uk
What to do here:
Set up a WordPress installation on the server for this domain.
I’ve got a previous version of the site (from another host) – the files include:
A full SQL database dump
All relevant local files
These will be shared as needed. The aim is to have this restored on WordPress so the old site continues to function as it was.
