VPN connection between mobile operator and backend

For the project we used a openvpn vpn that is connected to the mobile operator its network.
The goal is to be able to send http post requests from our IOT device, which uses a sim of the mobile operator, to our back ends private IP. This to ensure that the communication does not goes over public internet as the mobile operator foresees a private network for all our sim cards, after that, the vpn does the rest privately.
The vpn is already running as aws service, but we do not manage to send requests to the private IP of our server.
Also, the configuration is already done between us and the mobile operator and can be viewed in their dashboard.
The iot device is already able to send http request, besides that we can also use a regular smartphone to test stuff out. Sadly, we are not able to send you such a particular sim card.
We can provide acces to aws, openvpn service and the back end of our system.
