Update and migrate a network of wordpress sites from cloud ways to a new VPS on linode.
Budget: $15 – $25 CAD
We have a project that will require a sysadmin, wordpress developer, and data entry staff.
We currently have about 15 wordpress blogs in production, and ~50 staging sites running on 3 vps servers managed through cloud ways.
We would like to set up a new instance on Linode and migrate all of these sites over. The production sites will need to be updated, tested, and made live if there are no issues. The scope of work will be as follows:
- configure a VPS on Linode for hosting multiple wordpress blogs
- duplicate all app to staging & backup
- update PHP & MariaDB to the latest version
- update wordpress & plugins
- check for errors
- Disable all caching
- Move the database and filesystem over to the new Linode server
- If there are any errors check the server logs to find out the source
- review the performance logs to identify any slow queries or db issues
- update the sites URLs to prep for making live.
We are looking to hire the system admin first, but if you are a jack of all trades or have a team you will be given preference. The project scope could be expanded to include these tasks if you have the skillet:
- set up a virtual router to announce a /24 and route back to an external server through a GRE tunnel.
- diagnose an older wordpress plugin in need of updates
- create a high availability webserver and load balancer for our site network
this job will be set as hourly for now. If you would rather bid on the project we will provide a final scope of work once we understand your skillset.
