Job Specification: Technical Assistant
Position Overview
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Technical Assistant to support our IT infrastructure and web development projects. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in server administration, cloud services, and web technologies, with a focus on troubleshooting, maintenance, and automation.
Key Responsibilities
• Server Management & Troubleshooting:
o Fix and restore servers in the event of crashes or failures.
o Update and maintain Linux servers.
o Check and test backups, anti-virus solutions, and security protocols.
• Cloud & Hosting Administration:
o Manage AWS resources (EC2, RDS, S3, CloudWatch, etc.).
o Handle cPanel-based hosting environments.
o Monitor and optimize Cloudflare settings, including caching and security features.
• Web & Database Management:
o Maintain and troubleshoot PHP-based applications, including WordPress and Laravel.
o Optimize MySQL/MariaDB performance and troubleshoot database-related issues.
o Manage and debug DNS settings, SSL certificates, and email services.
• Security & Compliance:
o Monitor and improve server security through firewalls, access control, and system hardening.
o Implement and manage security best practices (SPF, DKIM, DMARC for email security, SSL, etc.).
• Deployment & Version Control:
o Work with Git and GitHub/GitLab for code versioning and deployment.
Required Skills & Experience
• Proficiency in Linux (Ubuntu, CentOS, AlmaLinux, etc.).
• Experience with AWS services (EC2, RDS, S3, IAM, CloudWatch).
• Strong PHP and MySQL/MariaDB knowledge.
• Hands-on experience with cPanel, WHM, and WordPress hosting.
• Familiarity with Cloudflare settings, caching, and DNS management.
• Knowledge of networking concepts, firewalls, and security best practices.
• Experience with Git version control and basic DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with monitoring tools (Icinga, Nagios, AWS CloudWatch).
• Background in website performance optimization.
• Knowledge of FastCGI, PHP-FPM troubleshooting.
