Your Responsibilities:
System Monitoring and Maintenance
You will monitor system health, proactively respond to monitoring alerts, and inspect application and system logs to take appropriate action in case of error conditions.
Development and Implementation
You will support in defining and implementing Kubernetes deployments and provide consultation in creating Kubernetes manifests for custom deployments.
Software Audits and Disaster Recovery
You are responsible for software updates, VM configurations, and the system's disaster recovery.
• general VM updates and configuration through ours to be built IaC definitions (Terraform, Ansible and Kubernetes)
• inspecting newer container images and software versions
• planning and executing updates on infrastructure components (kubernetes, ceph, VMs, ...) and provided PaaS containers
Platform Security and Scaling
You ensure the platform's availability, respond to outages, and scale clusters and storage solutions.
Your Profile:
Experience in System Administration
You are proficient with Linux shell and GNU tools and understand network protocols and data routing.
• knowing your way around a terminal Linux shell and GNU tools
• being able to interpret system logs, reason about error conditions and mitigating/solving them on your own
• knowing how networks work and communication/data routing
• being able to work with IaC definitions (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes Manifests)
• knowing some database administration foundational principles
Knowledge in Container Orchestration
You have experience in setting up Kubernetes clusters and dealing with persistent storage (in this case: a ceph cluster).
DevOps Culture
You are experienced in git version control and have an open mindset towards open-source solutions.
• knowing git version control and how to live the DevOps culture
• having an embracing mindset towards Open Source
• being supportive and consulting when it comes to interacting with the stakeholders from our projects that will be on the platform
• advocating for projects to align to the way the platform works and convincingly explaining rationales behind our compliance guidelines
Helpful certifications: Kubernetes (CKAD, CKA, CKS, CCA, CL260), Linux (LFCA, LFCS, LFCT, PCA), Cloud(AZ900, AZ350), GitOps (CGOA)
