I'm seeking an IT Support Engineer to manage a modern, Dockerized website.
seeking a highly skilled and reliable IT Support Engineer to manage the deployment, maintenance, and performance of multiple modern web platforms hosted in Dockerized environments. These platforms include websites which is about to Go-live. The ideal candidate will have experience with Docker, server performance tuning, reverse proxy configurations, and basic web application security.
Key Responsibilities:
Deploy and maintain web applications using Docker containers on Linux-based VPS servers.
Configure and troubleshoot reverse proxies, HTTPS/SSL certificates, and domain routing.
Monitor and optimize server resource usage to ensure fast and reliable platform performance.
Perform regular health checks, log reviews, and alert-based monitoring for containers and services.
Identify and patch security vulnerabilities across server, container images, and network layers.
Manage volumes, backups, and container upgrades with minimal downtime.
Support developers in staging, deployment pipelines, and DNS or infrastructure changes.
Maintain technical documentation for processes, configurations, and deployment steps.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Proficiency in Linux server administration (Ubuntu preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with Docker CLI, Docker Compose, and container networking
Experience with NGINX/Apache, SSL management, and reverse proxy setups
Familiarity with system performance tuning, monitoring tools (htop, netdata, Grafana), and log analysis
Understanding of common web security issues (e.g., open ports, outdated packages, unscanned images)
Ability to troubleshoot domain routing, HTTPS errors, and container failures
