Shiny app link to database

I have developed a shiny app along with its database that can be managed using shinymanager package. I used docker and the app is currently working on https://demo.cytotalk.com. However, because the database is inside the docker image, whenever the app restarts, the database becomes empty again. I need to link the app (in R) to an external database (outside the docker image) on the same droplet or another droplet on DigitalOcean. We can meet via zoom and you will have a remote access to the mouse and keyboard to do the job.
