Setup vps cluster at Hetzner.Com
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
You are experienced Linux sys admin.
And will also. Be available for sysadmin work on this system. After setting it up.
I would like to setup fully redundant system Of openremote.
Openremote come in docker container packages so my thoughts are listed below. But I would like a sysadmin perspective on making a redundant setup with a clear upgrade path as the load on the servers grow and also thoughts on following the openremote git repository updates in docker.
Or an alternative to easily update.
The following is run in separate docker containers as per the openremote standard
1. HAProxy
2. Postgresql (with patroni)
3. KeyCloak
4. Manager
For database i guess we need 3 vps servers to avoid split brain.
Then haproxy, keycloak and the openremote manager could be Placed on two separate vps with load balancing by HAproxy. It need to be session safe.
Failover could maybe done by using Hetzner api and a floating ip.
Or Maybe you have other thoughts.
Place bids on the exact time and usd $$ it would take.
