Set Up Secure, GDPR-Compliant IT Infrastructure with French IP Access (RDP + VPN + Client Isolation)
Budget: €30 – €250 EUR
We are looking for a highly skilled IT architect / cybersecurity expert with experience in GDPR compliance to build a robust, secure, and invisible infrastructure for a remote team.
Our team is based abroad, and we work with French clients who provide RDP access to virtual desktops, often behind their own VPNs. We want to set up an intermediary layer (VPS hosted in France) to ensure that:
- All client systems are accessed from a French IP address,
- No client can detect that our collaborators are outside of France,
- The setup is fully GDPR-compliant,
- All access is logged and auditable,
- The infrastructure is modular, scalable, and well documented for non-technical management.
Objectives:
Set up 1 or multiple VPS servers hosted in France, accessible only via private VPN (e.g., WireGuard or OpenVPN) from abroad.
From the VPS, connect to client environments via RDP and activate client VPN from the French IP.
Ensure strong authentication, client isolation, and full logging of access.
Guarantee RGPD (GDPR) compliance across the entire setup.
Provide clear documentation for a non-technical business owner.
Skills Required:
- Server administration (Linux – Debian/Ubuntu)
- VPN expertise (WireGuard, OpenVPN, or ZTNA solutions)
- Network security and access control
- Logging and monitoring (Wazuh, Graylog, ELK, etc.)
- GDPR compliance (technical and procedural implementation)
- Clear and professional documentation skills
Deliverables:
- VPS server(s) set up and secured (France-hosted)
- Private VPN access for remote team (Abroad → VPS)
- Full connection pipeline tested (Abroad → VPS → Client RDP + VPN)
- Connection logs and security monitoring in place
- User access control policies + access rotation procedures
- GDPR documentation (data processing register, procedures, DPA/PIA templates)
- Infrastructure diagram (PDF)
- Technical manual + simple user guide
Timeline:
- Project must be completed within 1 week.
Payment Terms:
Flat-rate project. Potential for ongoing support (maintenance, audits) if collaboration is successful.
Confidentiality & Ownership:
- Freelancer must sign a strict NDA.
- All credentials, scripts, diagrams, and documentation must be handed over upon project completion.
- Any breach in security or GDPR compliance will result in immediate termination of the contract.
