Set Up CloudNative PostgreSQL Clusters on Kubernetes (K3S)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
I need assistance in hosting multiple PostgreSQL clusters on my Kubernetes cluster, which is hosted on Hetzner. This project will make use of CloudNativePg, with one PostgreSQL cluster per database. Specifically, I am using K3S).
Key Requirements:
- Expose all databases to the public on port 5432.
- Use hostname-based routing to direct traffic to the correct database.
For example, if I have two databases, db-1 and db-2, the corresponding hostnames would be db-1.postgresql.mydomain.com for db-1 and db-2.postgresql.mydomain.com for db-2.
Additionally, a load balancer will be set up on Hetzner.
Documentation is a crucial part of this project. I need comprehensive instructions on how this setup was done, so I can replicate it in the future.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Extensive knowledge and experience with Kubernetes.
- Proficiency in setting up PostgreSQL clusters.
- Familiarity with Hetzner and CloudNativePg.
- Ability to create clear, comprehensive documentation.
- Experience with SSL certificate implementation.
I have full admin access to the Kubernetes cluster, and while I don't require high availability solutions for the PostgreSQL clusters, I do need assistance with obtaining and implementing SSL certificates for my database hostnames.
