SNORT as IDS/IPS to detect or block 1-3 attacks

i got Snort+Sguil setted up already as in this tutorial:

all works, i just need a help to make 1-3 nice attakcs on machine that Snort is seted up on (Ubuntu) from kali attack box - both under VMWare.
Attack for example could be:
1. log4j / Your proposal?
2. Your proposal?
3. Your proposal?
I would like to work with You remotely to understand all things is going on underneath and ask You few questions.
