Ruby Website Migration to New VPS - Must happen on Sat 5th April
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I need to migrate my old Ruby website from a VPS to a new one. The migration Must happen on Sat 5th April. The migration includes the following:
- Database
- Website files
- User uploaded files
- Configuration files
The site all in all is around 80GB's in size. The candidate should include helping me make sure SSL certificates run as expected after migration.
The new VPS operates on an updated Linux server from CentOS 7 to CentOS 8, while the old one was running on CentOS 7. It's crucial that we keep all software and dependencies at the same versions, so no upgrades are necessary during the migration.
Ideal candidates for this project should have:
- Extensive experience with Ruby and Ruby on Rails
- Proficiency in managing VPS servers
- Expertise in Linux, specifically CentOS
- Strong understanding of database management and file migration
- Good problem-solving skills for troubleshooting during the migration process
Notes:
- I have access to the Domains DNS and will work with candidate when to point to new server.
- Old site does not need to put into maintenance mode during migration, if there is a minor difference in the new migrated database - this is not a huge problem.
- There is an ads.txt. file which runs on php, so new server need to make sure it can run that php function.
