Restore 12 MB databases and optimize linux SQL server

Job ID: 32148753

Budget: $30 – $120 USD

Hello,

The hard disc of my SQL linux/centos server has failed. The hosting company installed centos again with new hard disc.

Here is what I need from you:
1) Optimize the server to run as a SQL ONLY database server to save resource so it should not handle any http request etc.
2) Create users for each of the three databases and upload the 3 databases I will send you of 3 MB, 12 MB and 18 MB.
3) Make those databases accessible to the IP address of the HTTP server only (I will send you the IP address)
4) Create a CRON to backup those 3 databases every 24 hours in compressed format (sql.gz) so I can connect through FTP and download them.

Server specifications for your information:
CPU: Intel Xeon Quad-Core E3-1220 3.1GHz: Included
Operating System
CentOS 6 64-bit: Included
8GB DDR3 RAM
120GB SSD
100Mbps: Included

I need you to set up the SQL server to handle hundreds of queries per second, centos already installed. Make sure firewall does not ban IPs easily, 99% of ips hitting this server are proxies/bots.

I don't need a beginner for this project because SQL server settings must be set up properly. The HTTP server sends hundreds of requests per second. I don't want the SQL server to overload or to show error messages. i.e. too many connections. I understand that you need some time to tweak the settings and that some errors may show until then :)

You must be available to start and finish right away as this is an urgent project. Make sure you remain online until database server fully working.

Thanks!

Note: A nice review will be left if all works fine when you have finished :)
