Rename Multiple File names Mac/Linux

I am looking for a freelancer who can write a small script (linux) to rename multiple file names on my Mac/Linux system. The current naming convention of the files is descriptive names, but I want to change it to sequential numbers. There are several folders (374) with several files (5-10) in subfolders. My software can't handle the long names included in the subfolder, e.g. these files names:

Fuc(a1-2)[Fuc(a1-2)Gal(b1-3)GlcNAc(b1-3)]Gal(b1-4)Glc_cluster0_alpha.PDB.pdb
Fuc(a1-2)[Fuc(a1-2)Gal(b1-3)GlcNAc(b1-3)]Gal(b1-4)Glc_cluster0_beta.PDB.pdb
Fuc(a1-2)[Fuc(a1-2)Gal(b1-3)GlcNAc(b1-3)]Gal(b1-4)Glc_cluster1_alpha.PDB.pdb

need to be changed and the capital PDB removed so they look like this:

A2_cluster0_alpha.pdb
A2_cluster0_beta.pdb
A2_cluster1_alpha.pdb
A2_cluster1_beta.pdb
A2_cluster2_alpha.pdb
A2_cluster2_beta.pdb
A2_cluster3_alpha.pdb
A2_cluster3_beta.pdb

The string 'A#' string is specified in an excel spreadsheet (A1-A374)
