Reconfigure linux server: LetsEncrypt broken, Ghost blog mail server setup, password for web

Hi there. I'm after a sysadmin or linux server admin to fix up my blog website.
The first issue is that my SSL certificate autorenewal is broken. I use LetsEncrypt to do this, but I can't get it working automatically, so the certificate expires every 3 months and my site stops working. I want to fix this.
Next, I can't get into my Ghost blog admin because I've forgotten the password. I tried to use the forgotten password feature except the mail server used by the blog isn't configured. So I this needs to be set up so I can get back into Ghost.
Lastly, I need to put a password over the entire site. Something simple in nginx would be great, but I'm open to your suggestions.
