Raspberry Pi Compute Module 4 Linux camera drivers – finish and debug
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We have two custom MIPI CSI2 camera modules we've had designed, and attempted to get drivers working on them, but we have no experience with building and debugging Linux camera drivers, so we're looking for someone WITH EXPERIENCE ON LINUX CAMERA DRIVER DEVELOPMENT. If you have no experience in this domain, please don't respond, if you do, we would love to hear a little about it and how you would plan to tackle this project. PLEASE PROVIDE A REALISTIC GUESTIMATE. We won't pay attention to unrealistically low bids, which people sometimes put out in hopes to grab interest.
The two camera modules use the AR0521, and the IMX385. We have datasheets for both, as well as attempts at drivers in github repositories. The AR0521 driver we started from was targeted at Linux kernel 6; we need to target 5.10.92 aarch64. We made some changes and got it to compile, and can see the /dev/video0 device, but we can't seem to see any controls for it through v4l2-ctl. The IMX385 driver we copied from a different IMX sensor and updated the things we thought needed to be adapted, but similarly it shows up as a video0 device, but no controls show up. We can lend the needed hardware.
