PulseAudio Speex Codec Expert On Openwrt Needed For Echo cancel Help

We are using PulseAudio on an Openwrt project and we are implementing echo cancel for a speakerphone application.
We are having some difficulty getting the echo cancel to work (there is a distorted echo at the distant end), we believe this may be related to timing of the echo cancel stream with the microphone stream. I have an engineer on the job who needs some help and advice.
Please let me know if there is someone who is an expert to help us resolve this issue.
