PostgreSQL Installation and Replication Setup on Two Servers

Project Description:
We are looking for an experienced system administrator or database specialist to assist with the installation and configuration of PostgreSQL on two new servers. The goal is to establish a replication setup where one server acts as the primary (master) and the other as a replica (slave), ensuring automatic synchronization and real-time backup of the primary server’s data.
The setup should also allow secure connections to the PostgreSQL database from a third server, which will be used for accessing the database remotely.
Key Requirements:
PostgreSQL Installation:
- Install the latest stable version of PostgreSQL on both servers.
- Configure PostgreSQL to run as a service on both servers, ensuring automatic startup on reboot.
Master-Replica Configuration:
- Set up one server as the primary (master) and the other as the replica (slave).
- Configure streaming replication between the two servers to ensure that the replica is always in sync with the master server.
- Set up the replication process to be fully automated and error-free, ensuring the replica continuously receives updates from the primary server without manual intervention.
Replication Monitoring:
- Provide tools or scripts to monitor the replication status and health, ensuring there is minimal downtime or data inconsistencies.
Connection Setup for a Third Server:
- Ensure secure and efficient access to the PostgreSQL databases from a third server.
- Configure necessary firewall rules and provide secure authentication mechanisms (e.g., SSL, SSH tunneling) for external connections.
Testing & Validation:
- Test replication functionality to ensure data changes on the master server are reflected on the replica in real-time.
- Test access from the third server to confirm connectivity and access rights.
Documentation:
- Include troubleshooting steps in case of replication failures or connection issues.
Deliverables:
