Overleaf Change Monitor

Job ID: 34386966

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

This is a specific tool that I will use as part of a larger research project - the tools is not the research, but using the information provided by this tool and combined with data from other tools it will assist in the overall research.

This specific tool would monitor Overleaf (https://www.overleaf.com) to see if projects to which a specific user has access have changed. Note that Overleaf does not have a public API so this project will require the developer(s) figure out how to obtain credentials and manually poll a user's projects periodically and look for changes to those projects.

How the project is implemented is flexible, provided that I can use the tool in a mainstream Linux environment (e.g., Ubuntu) without restrictions about running it inside a VM and/or container. The collected data will be written to an ArangoDB instance on the same system as where the tool runs (though not within the same VM/container.) Flexibility in modifying the format of the output data will be useful since I am not yet certain what exact data will ultimately be beneficial in the larger research project.

Note that the source code for this tool must be available under an open source license agreement in order to permit other parties to reproduce any results that come out of the larger research project.
