Need help with IFTTT and Google Assistant or Google Home applets iot

Need help setting up Google Assistant to work with IFTTT and with creating applets to send back to our Linux pc.
We need to test the applets function properly. Possibly there is a better way to use voice to send commands instead of using IFTTT but I’m unaware of this.
Open to suggestions that might improve our project.
