Need advice on using voice commands, iot and possibly IFTTT or other.

Wanting to speak a phrase into Google Assistant running within Linux. (Possibly may have to use physical Google home if not GA) Need to receive back a preset string/phrase into a PHP application running with the same Linux computer. Or any other method to accomplish this request that we may not be aware of.
