The objective of this project is to provide comprehensive support for the MFG Pro application server installed on AIX version 5.3 Unix servers in both Mumbai and Bangalore. The project will encompass the following key tasks:
1. Current Environment Assessment:
- Conduct a detailed assessment of the existing MFG Pro application server setup on the IBM Server P740 and P500 series running AIX version 5.3 Unix.
- Identify any performance issues, compatibility concerns, or areas requiring improvement.
2. Support and Maintenance:
- Provide ongoing support and maintenance for the MFG Pro application server, ensuring its smooth operation and availability.
- Address any server-related issues, software updates, patches, and performance optimizations.
- Monitor the server performance to ensure optimal resource utilization.
3. Data Access Transition:
- Evaluate the current data access method via Netterm and identify potential alternatives for seamless and secure data access.
- Plan and implement a suitable data access solution to enhance data accessibility, reliability, and security.
4. Migration to New Server:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements and specifications for the new server infrastructure.
- Plan and execute the migration of the MFG Pro application server from the existing AIX version 5.3 Unix servers to the new server environment.
- Ensure minimal downtime and data integrity during the migration process.
- Conduct thorough testing and verification of the migrated application server to ensure its proper functionality.
5. Documentation and Training:
- Prepare comprehensive documentation detailing the server environment, configurations, and procedures for future reference.
- Provide training sessions to the relevant team members to ensure familiarity with the new server infrastructure and application server management.
By the successful completion of this project, the MFG Pro application server will be fully supported, upgraded, and migrated to a new server environment, enabling improved performance, enhanced data access, and ensuring its continued smooth operation.
