Haptic Feedback SmartKnob for Sailboat Control

I'm looking to develop a custom version of the SmartKnob, focusing primarily on its haptic feedback capabilities. The end product should be compatible with Linux, as that's the platform I'll be using. The primary application for this device will be controlling a sailboat rudder.

Ideal skills and experience for the job:
