Gitea SSL Configuration on Apache

I'm seeking a freelancer with experience in Linux, Apache, and Gitea to configure an SSL connection on my server.

Key Tasks:
- Configuration of Gitea on my Linux server via Apache on a https connection

The VPS we are working on is a almalinux system with Directadmin as controlpanel.
The hostname is vps1.testdomainxxx.online
The hostname has a letsencrypt SSL certificate genereated by Directadmin.
Access to Directadmin on secure connection https://vps1.testdomainxxx.online:2222 is working
Access to gitea on non-secure connection http://vps1.testdomainxxx.online:3000 is working
When I follow the documentation by adding these values to gitea app.ini

ROOT_URL = https://git.example.com:3000/
HTTP_PORT = 3000
CERT_FILE = cert.pem //In my install I added the full path to my best knowledge
KEY_FILE = key.pem //In my install I added the full path to my best knowledge

I get the browser notification: "ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED".

Please help me setup gitea on a https connection.

For this project, proven experience with Linux and Apache is a must. Knowledge of Gitea and previous work in SSL setups will be highly favorable.
