Fix Linux Mint MAME Sound Issue

I need help resolving a no-sound or high score issue on Linux Mint when using an app to play MAME games.
Hi, so i have had a developer create an app for me that controls the games and opens mame to play them.
The issue is i cant get hold of the developer and when i open the game in the app it doesnt have any sound and also doesnt use the right highscore.
So i go to terminal and open mame and the game and the high score works fine and also sound.
When i go to the app and run the game from that there is no sound (but does make sound on anydesk though, just not out of the computer speakers) and also the high score is different to when i run in mame.
I do have anydesk access available for you to access.
Thus is also made with python script
