Digital Ocean Port 25
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I contacted digital ocean about port 25. port is closed i want it open
they answered me :
Thank you for contacting DigitalOcean support. I understand that you are looking to enable an SMTP port. Here to take a look and assist!
We usually don't recommend running your own mail servers and always suggest utilizing third-party mail relay services such as SendGrid or Mailchimp due to domain and IP reputation. we do have a blog that explains why you should not run your own email server which should provide more insights about it: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/why-you-may-not-want-to-run-your-own-mail-server
However, I also confirm that there is no account-level SMTP restriction in place on the DigitalOcean platform for your account. So if you are not looking for third-party solutions and would like to implement mail services through DigitalOcean droplets, then please configure the application to use the SMTP ports and make sure to allow those ports on the DigitalOcean cloud firewall and software firewalls such as IPTables or UFW, if configured.
Please find below the community tutorials and product documentation which will guide you in allowing ports on the droplet.
Cloud firewall: https://www.digitalocean.com/docs/networking/firewalls/
UFW: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/how-to-set-up-a-firewall-with-ufw-on-ubuntu-18-04
IPTables: https://www.digitalocean.com/community/tutorials/iptables-essentials-common-firewall-rules-and-commands
Please note, as a self-managed provider, we aren't able to access customer Droplets at the command line or application level. This means we can only provide you guidance from the information you give us about your server in regards to error logs, configuration files, or the output of commands.
We're more than happy to help if you have a question, however, please don't hesitate to ask.
-> Can anyone read documentation and open the port 25 for me ?
Thank you
