Connect Ubuntu desktop to 20 year-old Quantum NAS
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I have an old NAS called a Snap Server that is currently running and connected to a Windows desktop with an RJ-45 cable connected thru a switch. That NAS uses TCP/IP and has an address of 192.168.1.3 and a name of SNAP1 with a share called drive1. I want to connect to that share from my Ubuntu desktop. It won't connect automatically when I connect it with an RJ-45 cable to the switch nor have I been able to figure out how to get it to connect by using settings for the Intel Ethernet-100 connection. I have not been able to ping it and I haven't been able to use a mount command from terminal either.
I need a tech to tell me how to make a successful connection so I can read those files on the NAS from my Ubuntu desktop.
