Connect my PC to my AWS EC2 instance via SSH

Hi all,
Ive spent 2 hours trying to sort SSH stuff so I can terminal in to my app (based on linux 16.10 instance on EC2)
Ive got all the keys, login information etc. Im jsut too thick to do the CHMOD stuff.
Can someone jump onto my PC with me now and sort me out. If you know what you are doign this will take you literally 5 minutes. Ill pay you for an hour obviously :)
