seo keyword research -- 2

KEYWORD RESEARCH
I am launching a new website framedwallart.ie . It is replacing an existing site fineartframed.ie but I want the SEO Keyword Research done from scratch.
Before you start here are a few things you need to know. I am following the book “How to get to the top of Google” by www.exposureninja.com
They use semrush.com as I do. If you want to get a 14-day free trial, https://www.semrush.com/partner/expninja/
This site is only on Google.ie. .ie is the TLD for Ireland. Ireland has a population of only around 4M so getting to the top three in Ireland is not that difficult. All texts on the subject assume you are competing worldwide or in the USA so there is an emphasis on picking keywords with low competition. In my experience, this does not ring through in the restricted .ie market place and as I will be optimizing for each selected keyword and the number of keywords is restricted to the number of landing pages that I will have 30 – 40 tops, I don’t want to waste opportunities on niche keywords when could have optimized for a more powerful competitive one.
Glossary of terms : custom picture frames and made-to-measure picture frames are interchangeable.
Framed Wall Art’s offerings can be grouped into three main services.
1) Have a framed made-to-measure for an existing piece of artwork. This is the custom Framing section. The terms made-to-measure framing and custom framing are interchangeable. The customer can frame anything from a small photo to a Large deep stretched canvas. All customers must do is measure the exterior of the artwork, insert those dimensions and then pick a frame. To see what their artwork will look like when framed, they can upload a photo of their artwork for a preview. They then have a complete visualization online of exactly what the finished work will look like before they purchase. You can see how this works here: made-to-measure frames
2) Print and frame an image a digital image – normally just a personal photo but we often get customers wanting to print and frame large landscapes. These photos can be printed on fine art paper or canvas. When printed on canvas, they are stretched onto a stretcher bar and the customer can purchase it framed or unframed. You can see how this works here: Print & Frame
3) Select an Art Print from our library and have it printed on fine art paper and framed. If the customer elects to print onto a stretched canvas, they can purchase the stretched canvas framed or unframed. You can see how this works here: Art Prints
We are one of the few companies that offer all three services on one website. This impacts on SEO research because if you are looking for competitive sites to see what keywords they are using, For each of the three main services above, you are looking at a different set of sites.
For instance, take the Art Prints section. The Irish market is too small so instead, for keyword ideas, I want you to look at those sites within the UK that have the most organic traffic. Through semrush.com > Domain Overview, they are
There is no need to go to them all just the first three which are desenio.co.uk, posterlounge.co.uk and posterstore.co.uk. Semrush.com will also show you the keywords that they have running in their PPC campaigns. They might be worh looking at as well as they are the ones that they consider the most valuable or atleast valuable.
For our custom framing service, made-to-measure frames, I would look at those companies who have the most organic traffic within the UK.
1) www.eframe.co.uk
2) https://www.pictureframesexpress.co.uk/
3) https://www.easy-frame.co.uk/
4) https://www.frames.co.uk/
5) https://www.best4frames.co.uk/custom-picture-frames
The above sites are dedicated to selling frames, both readymade and custom frames. They do not sell art prints. Two of the above have dedicated sections for selling custom frames or Made-to-Measure frames. These are eframe custom frames and best4frames custom frames . In addition, both eframes.co.uk and best4frames.co.uk have keywords in their PPC campaigns. Again, presumably they have some reason to value these above the rest, so you might have a look at them as well. Best4frames.co.uk have 214 paid keywords and eframe.co.uk has some as well.
Lastly, There is the Print & Frame service. Two of the above sites have dedicated sections for printing and framing, eframes print and frame service is here and best4frames is here
Here are two that I would compete with in Ireland photobox.ie and snapfish.ie
The sections is https://www.photobox.ie/shop/wall-decor
And for snapfish.ie it is https://www.snapfish.ie/home-decor
That’s your environment. Here is what I need. I need you to come back to identify the most valuable keywords in each section. Do not come back to me with any more than 100 keywords for each section. I want them ordered by what you think are the most important. Atleast have them split into two groups, the top 30 – 35 and the rest.
Here is why I want 30. As I mentioned above I am following Esposureninja’s method and I have to create more pages on the site. In total there will be about 10 new pages per service. These are just SEO traps but I am limited to the keywords I can optimize for each page. So to start, I will optimise two or three per new page. I will look at your top 30 for the section and start with them.
Here is what I mean. In my section, Made to Measure Frames, I had only two sub sections which are shown below.
The reason why these sections were there was because the method and screen flow between the two of these were different.
If we can frame anything from a 4x6” photo to a large 2.2M deep stretched canvas, then if the customer needs to frame anything but a stretched canvas, they simply go to the first sub menu.
The system does not care what they are framing so long as it is less than 4mm deep, any frame can be used. However, I want to add extra pages to rank so I put in 10 submenus in total.
The logic I am using is if a customer has something to frame, he must know what it is and if he thinks there is a special way of doing it, they can go to the item.
So this menu is going to change to below.
• Frames for stretched canvases
• Frames for posters
• Frames for photos
• Frames for Oil On Board
• Frames for Documents
• Frames for Watercolours –
• Frames for Painting on canvas
• Frames for Drawings.
• Frames for Original Art
• Frames for objects – Shadow Box Frames
These sub menus will all go to new pages which will be optimised for two or three keywords. These keywords may or may not be related to the menu item. For instance. “Frames for posters” is easy to do as it will be optimized for the “poster frames” keyword as it is one of the most powerful keywords in the environment….
And another top keyword “Large Picture Frames”
so to optimize it,
URL is https://www.framedwallart.ie/poster-frames-large-picture-frames.html
Meta Title: Buy Poster Frames - upto 2M Wide | FramedWallArt
Meta Description: Buy Poster Frames & Large Picture Frames. Up to 2.2 M wide | Save 70% over Traditional Framers | Preview Before You Buy by Uploading Photo of Artwork | Delivery Anywhere!
And then on the actual page, I use the keywords again in <h1> and <h2> tags, etc.
Let's look at another one of these submenus like Frames for Watercolours. There are virtually no searches for “Frames for Watercolours” so no point in optimizing for that but instead, I get two or three powerful keywords loosely related and optimize for them.
I will be picking the keywords I use for these pages from the top 30 keywords that you give me for the Custom Framing. If I can find in the top 30 – 35, I look in the rest of the 100 keywords you have got for me.
When you are finished you should have 300 keywords as follows.
Service 1 – Made to Measure Frames Top 30 keywords Next best 70 keywords
Service 2 – Print and Frame Top 30 keywords Next best 70 keywords
Service 3 – Print and Frame Top 30 keywords Next best 70 keywords
NB: Other Contract to Give Out.
I have another contract to give out in connection with this site. The contract is for 10 – 20 hours per week for backlinking. This is a pretty significant contract as it will last as long as the website does. The new website www.framdartprints.ie will replace the existing website www.fineartframed.ie which has been running for 11 years. There is no reason why www.framedwallart.ie will not last at least as long.
I will be recruiting for this contract shortly and will be making a shortlist. If you do a good job on this short small contract, you will be in a very good position to be seriously considered for the large contract.
Kind Regards, Morgan
