Snipe Browser Software Distribution
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
Software Distribution Specialist : Publish Snipe Browser to 50–100 Download Directories (Multiple OS Editions)
I need an experienced software distribution specialist to publish Snipe Browser across a minimum of 50 download directories, app stores, and software catalogues, targeting up to 100 live listings total. Snipe Browser has 6 distinct Windows editions and each must be matched to the correct platform on each site.
Payment is for live, verified published listings only, not attempts, not pending, not rejections. If it is not live, it does not count.
This is the administrative task of getting it in download directories, not coding itself.
About the Software
--------------------------------
Snipe Browser is a free, privacy-first Chromium 140 browser built on Ungoogled Chromium. It has zero Google telemetry, uBlock Origin compiled in by default, Ruffle (Flash) built in, a ~23MB idle footprint, and no forced updates or accounts. It is one of the only modern browsers with verified working builds across the full Windows range from XP through 11.
Homepage and all download links: browser.snipeoffice.org
The 6 Editions
---------------------------
Each edition has its own installer and must be published as a distinct product where the site supports platform filtering.
- Snipe Browser XP - Windows XP Professional x64 SP2 (https://snipeoffice-xp.neocities.org/downloads use the 392mb one click installer)
- Snipe Browser 7 - Windows 7 SP1 x64 ( https://browser.snipeoffice.org/windows7/index.html - installer )
- Snipe Browser 8 - Windows 8.0 and 8.1 x64 ( https://browser.snipeoffice.org/windows8and8point1/index.html - installer)
- Snipe Browser 9 - Windows 9 beta x64 ( https://browser.snipeoffice.org/windows9/index.html - installer / https://windows9.4up.eu for the OS)
- Snipe Browser - Windows 10 and 11 x64 ( https://browser.snipeoffice.org/win10and11-64bit/index.html )
- Snipe Browser 32-bit - Windows 10 and 11 x86 ( https://browser.snipeoffice.org/win10and11-32bit/index.html )
Counting rule: Multiple editions live on one site count as individual listings toward the target. If you get all 6 editions published on OldApps, that counts as 6.
The Task
---------------
Publish the correct edition or editions to each site based on what that site supports and its audience
Create and maintain a PAD file (Portable Application Description XML) for sites that require it
Write accurate, non-spammy metadata for each listing
- title, short description, long description, category, version, homepage URL, download URL, licence (freeware), and OS compatibility
- Prioritise the performance and privacy angle in descriptions ( the key differentiators are uBlock built-in, zero telemetry, Flash restored via Ruffle, legacy OS support, and ~23MB idle RAM)
- Do not use automated bulk publishing tools ( most sites detect and reject these and it damages listings)
- Provide a running tracker updated throughout the project
Categories to Use
------------------------------
Where the site offers category selection use: Web Browsers, Internet, Privacy Tools, or Utilities. For legacy-focused sites also flag: Legacy Support, Retro, or Lightweight.
Deliverables
--------------------
- CSV or Excel tracker with site name, URL of live listing, edition published, publication date, status, and account credentials where created
- PAD file delivered at project close
- Minimum 100 verified live published listings ( 50 unique sites ideally but some sites will have more than one listing)
- All listings must use correct edition labelling and accurate download URLs pointing to browser.snipeoffice.org or https://snipeoffice-xp.neocities.org/ https://snipeoffice7.neocities.org/ for legacy versions)
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience publishing software to download directories
- Familiarity with PAD file format
- Ability to match software editions to appropriate platform sections on each site
- No bulk publishing bots
- Good written English for metadata
