theatre technician
Budget: £250 – £750 GBP
I am looking for a theatre technician with expertise in lighting, to work on a play for one day. This will be at the Bread & Roses Theatre in Clapham on 6th November for a number of hours to be determined closer to the time. This technician must have a good understanding of theatre lighting systems including dimmers, consoles and fixtures preferably with the ability to program and execute complex lighting designs. The technician will be working with another technician to plot the lighting for a 90 minute stage show.
Ideally, the chosen technician will also have knowledge in other areas of theatre technology including sound and set design, as well as have the ability to collaborate with other theatre personnel such as actors, designers, directors, stage managers, etc. Good communication skills and a willingness to learn are also very important attributes.
The successful candidate must also be able to work quickly and efficiently while still maintaining quality of the output. During the project, the technician will be required to remain calm in a fast pace environment and prioritize tasks in order to reach the event deadline.
