Whole-House Lighting Design

Job ID: 40150361

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

I have a new home under construction and I want a complete lighting scheme drawn up before the electrician starts running cable. The brief covers every layer of light—ambient, task and accent—so the plan should feel cohesive from room to room while still letting each space shine on its own.

Scope of rooms
• Living room: the main goal here is ambiance. I’d like dimmable circuits, layered light, and ideas for accenting art niches.
• Kitchen: bright, functional task lighting over worktops plus a softer option for evenings.
• Bedrooms: warm, restful tones with reading spots accounted for.
• Outdoor areas: safety first, but I still want the landscape and façade to look welcoming after dark.

What I expect from you
• Scaled layout drawings (PDF and a source file—AutoCAD, Dialux, Relux, Revit, or similar) that show fixture positions, switching zones, and circuit notes.
• A keyed fixture schedule listing recommended fittings, lamp types, colour temperatures and lumen outputs.
• Basic load calculations so we know the circuits are balanced.
• Narrative notes that explain how each lighting layer is intended to be used and any control suggestions (dimmers, smart systems, motion sensors).

Please base recommendations on fixtures readily available in my country (I’ll confirm suppliers once we start). If anything is unclear in the architectural plans I provide, feel free to ask—it’s easier to resolve questions early. I’m happy to review a first pass, give feedback and then sign off on a final revision.
