Whole Home Functional Lighting Design

Job ID: 40207123

Budget: $250 – $750 USD

I’m updating the lighting throughout my house and need a clear, well-thought-out plan that focuses on functional use. The scope covers the living room, kitchen, and all bedrooms.

Living Room
I want this space to feel bright and lively, so the layout should balance general illumination with task and accent layers that keep the room energetic without glare.

Kitchen
Function is everything here—ample task lighting for prep areas, clear illumination over the island and counters, plus practical switching zones so cooking never feels shadowed or uneven.

Bedrooms
Comfort matters, but usability comes first. Think reading-friendly bedside levels, straightforward switching, and a calm overall balance that still lets the occupants see clearly when needed.

Deliverables
• Room-by-room lighting layout (PDF + source CAD/Dialux or similar)
• Fixture schedule with wattage, color temperature, beam angles, and dimming notes
• Switching and circuiting plan that ties to everyday routines
• Brief rationale explaining how the design meets functional goals and the “bright and lively” target for the living room

If you’re comfortable selecting fixtures, specifying control gear, and presenting a tidy, build-ready package, I’d love to review your approach.
