Traditional Boardroom & Teaching Kitchen Design -- 3
Budget: $250 – $750 CAD
I’m re-imagining a clients existing boardroom so it can slip effortlessly between three roles: a formal meeting space, a fully functional teaching kitchen, and a presentation space. The room shall hold 50 people. The look throughout must remain firmly traditional—rich woods, classic profiles, and timeless detailing—while seamlessly hiding modern amenities.
Existing board room is as per the image attached.
Boardroom
A single long rectangular table will anchor the room, seating roughly 14–16 with generous circulation on every side. Power and data need to be concealed within the tabletop, and every chair must have an unobstructed view of the main presentation wall where a large display and discreet speakers sit behind wood-panel reveals.
Teaching Kitchen
Within the space a kitchen should invite hands-on learning. I need a continuous counter or 2 counters that work as demonstration and prep areas. Kitchen will need to have a side by side fridge and freezer, oven, mixing appliances and microwave.
Storage panty is also required.
Flow & Cohesion
Guests should glide from the table to the counter and back again without breaking conversation. Sight-lines, acoustics, and ADA access all matter. Finishes, cabinetry profiles, hardware, and lighting must read as one coherent space—even when the burners are on and the projector is off.
Deliverables
• Scaled plan with furniture, equipment, and service clearances
• 3D renders or elevations showing material palette and millwork details
• Fixture/appliance schedule highlighting tech integration
• Lighting concept balancing task illumination and ambient warmth
Share your proposed workflow, milestones, and any comparable projects you’ve tackled. I’m ready to move quickly once we lock the concept.
