Residential Lighting Design – Small Home (Ambience-Focused)

I’m looking for a lighting designer to create a simple, well-considered lighting plan for a small residential house.

The focus is on ambience and spatial feel, not over-lighting or filling the ceiling with downlights. I want lighting that enhances each space and makes the house feel warm, intentional, and considered.

Scope of work:
• Review my existing floor plans
• Assess each space (bathroom, bedroom, living area, kitchen)
• Propose lighting types and placement to suit each area
• Map lighting positions directly onto my plans
• Focus on layered lighting (ambient, task, feature) where appropriate

What I’m looking for:
• Thoughtful lighting placement to transform the feel of the space
• Alternatives to excessive downlights (e.g. wall lights, pendants, feature lighting, soft ambient sources)
• Practical, build-ready suggestions suitable for a residential build

What I’ll provide:
• Floor plans
• Basic info on ceiling heights and layout
• Any preferences or inspiration images (if helpful)

Deliverables:
• Lighting layout plan (PDF, marked up on plans)
• Schedule or notes outlining lighting types and intent per space
