Design of Electrical Wiring UK Residential
Budget: £20 – £250 GBP
I’m finalising the plans for a new eight-bedroom residential house in the UK and now need a complete electrical design that satisfies current British Standards (BS 7671, Part L lighting, etc.). You will receive the architectural floor plans in DWG and PDF and will turn them into a fully engineered electrical package.
The scope covers every stage—from load assessment through to cable sizing and panel schedules—so the finished package can go straight to a contractor without further redlining. The lighting concept should deliver comfortable ambient illumination in all rooms and focussed task lighting for kitchens, study areas and utility spaces.
A dedicated consumer unit / fuse board is required along with a control panel that supports remote monitoring. For Every room, A sub breaker is needed along with an energy meter must be incorporated so the homeowner can track consumption via a cloud or LAN interface for each room.
I expect work produced in industry-standard tools: AutoCAD (or Revit) for drawings, Dialux/Relux for lighting simulations, and Amtech (Trimble ProDesign) or similar for cable calculations. All calculations must reference the relevant BS tables. Tools are only mentioned as an examples, Freelancer can propose other tools.
Deliverables
• DWG & PDF electrical layout plans
• Single-line diagram and distribution board schedule
• Detailed cable sizing and voltage-drop calculations
• Dialux or Relux lighting reports with lux plots or similar
• Panel / consumer unit schematics with remote-monitoring energy meter integration
• Parts list and brief installation specification (proposal of UK local brands and part numbers are appreciated)
I will review against British Standard clauses and load balance accuracy. Please outline your proposed timeline and any information you need from me beyond the floor plans to start.
Deadline: Two weeks is the target for completion, taking into account draft, review and any amendment
Thank you for reviewing
