Cozy Basement Retreat Bar Design
Budget: $750 – $1,500 AUD
I’m transforming an unfinished basement corner into a private retreat—think intimate bar lounged for hosting friends—and I need a complete interior design concept to bring it to life.
Scope
• Translate the existing floor dimensions (I’ll provide CAD drawings) into an efficient layout that fits a small bar counter, back-bar storage, and relaxed seating for 6–8 people.
• Specify a cohesive “cozy and intimate” palette—warm timbers, layered textures, soft lighting—to encourage conversation.
• Recommend key furniture, fixtures, and finishes: bar stools, lounge chairs/sofa, cabinetry style, counter surface, flooring, wall treatment, and ceiling detail.
• Create a lighting plan that balances task lighting behind the bar with dimmable ambient glow.
• Deliver visual aids—a scaled floor plan with dimensions, at least two 3D perspectives or rendered elevations, and a concise mood board with material samples and shopping links.
• Optional but appreciated: suggestions for discreet audio, mini-fridge or wine cooler placement, and smart-home controls.
What I’ll Supply
– Room measurements, ceiling height, photos, and any existing utilities location.
– Inspiration images I already like.
What I Need From You
– PDF/PNG presentation of the concept.
– Source files (SketchUp, Revit, or similar) so I can hand them to a contractor.
– Bill of materials with approximate quantities and current retail links where possible.
I value clear communication and quick iteration: include up to two revision rounds so we can fine-tune finishes or furniture choices before final hand-off. Let’s craft a welcoming hideaway my guests will never want to leave.
