Ambient Event Lighting Technician
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m putting together a live event and need a lighting specialist who can take full ownership of the ambient/event-space look and feel. Your focus will be lighting design and operation only—audio and video are handled elsewhere—so I’m counting on you to turn an ordinary room into an immersive environment that supports networking, presentations, and general guest flow.
You’ll collaborate with me on a creative concept, translate that into a practical lighting plot, specify fixtures, supervise load-in, program the console (GrandMA, ETC, Chamsys or similar), and run the cues during rehearsals and the show. DMX addressing, Art-Net networking, LED washes, uplighting, and colour-palette control should all be second nature to you. The venue prefers quiet fixtures and tidy cable management, so factor that into your plan.
Deliverables expected:
• Detailed lighting plot with fixture count, placement, and power needs
• Gear list matched to venue specs and budget caps
• Pre-programmed show file with clearly labelled cues
• On-site setup, focus, rehearsal support, live operation, and strike
• Post-event handover notes for the venue team
Acceptance criteria: the room remains evenly lit without dark patches or glare, colour transitions match the run-of-show, and every cue fires on time.
If you’re ready to elevate the atmosphere and can commit to being on site from load-in to strike, let’s talk.
