Virginia-Based Attorney for small contract dispute (but we are not in dispute)
Budget: $25 – $50 USD
I, ("Person 1" in the explanation below), am in need of an attorney in Virginia, USA able to appear before a judge in Fairfax County, VA in person or by phone/video according to the rules of the VA court system. Does VA require you to be a member of the bar to appear before a judge?
- Person 2 is resigning and Person 1 agrees, so it was not required that Person 1 filed in a VA court.
- Person 2 is asking for back pay to which Person 1 agrees.
- Person 1 tried to settle before filing. After filing, Person 1 is still trying to settle out of court.
- Person 2 who is a VA lawyer, hired two more VA lawyers to file and wants Person 1 to pay for these unnecessary lawyers which Person 1 may fight. These lawyers will not reply to Person 1 which is my primary reason for seeking a VA attorney myself.
Goal: settle matter as fast and inexpensively as possible. The parties are mostly in agreement. Filing in court was not necessary so forcing Person 1 to pay the legal bills of Person 2 might be contestable however.
The entire task should be completed within a month. Turnaround time is significant as I aim to resolve the dispute swiftly so bank accounts can be unfrozen. I can provide more description
