Review of Engineering Consultancy Agreement (Healthcare Project – Saudi Arabia)
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Project Description:
We are seeking an experienced legal and/or engineering contracts specialist to review a professional engineering consultancy agreement related to a healthcare facility project in Saudi Arabia.
The project involves the adaptive reuse of an existing building into a rehabilitation and long-term care medical facility. The agreement governs design, BIM, supervision, authority approvals, and construction support services.
The selected freelancer will be provided with the full agreement (confidentially) after selection.
Scope of Work:
The freelancer will be required to:
Review the full engineering consultancy agreement in detail
Identify risks, gaps, and unfavorable clauses from the Client’s perspective
Highlight any ambiguous or unclear provisions
Assess allocation of responsibilities (Client / Consultant / DRMC)
Evaluate clauses related to:
Design liability
BIM obligations (LOD, clash detection, deliverables)
Change orders and variations
Payment terms and milestones
Delays and liquidated damages
Authority approvals
Construction-stage support
Recommend improvements or alternative wording where necessary
Provide a structured report summarizing findings and recommendations
Deliverables:
A clear written report (bullet points or structured format) including:
Key risks
Missing protections
Suggested amendments
Optional: redline comments or revised clauses (preferred)
Required Expertise:
Strong experience in engineering consultancy contracts
Experience in healthcare or large-scale construction projects is highly preferred
Familiarity with Saudi regulations (MOH, CBAHI, Civil Defense) is a plus
Understanding of BIM-based contracts is highly desirable
Confidentiality:
The agreement will be shared only with the selected freelancer under strict confidentiality.
Timeline:
3–5 days from receiving the document
Additional Notes:
We are looking for a practical, real-world review — not just a legal summary — with a focus on protecting the Client’s commercial and technical interests.
If you have relevant experience, please share similar work or background in contract review for engineering or construction projects.
